Italy - Day 1 and 2

Well after a hard 12 weeks of University assignments, projects, 12 hour days in the library and lectures, I definetely earned a break, so when Swiss rider Dominik Gspan asked if I was up for 11 days in San Remo over the Easter break, it would have been rude to turn it down.

So on Tuesday morning, I left a wet and windy Edinburgh and headed for the airport now with Easy jet having changed regulations regarding baggage allowances, I was worried about excess fees and loads of hassle but I had no problems and everything was checked in.

Dominik picked me up from Nice airport where he too had a new Carbon V10 in the back of his 9 metre Mercedes Sprinter van.

We headed straight for the beach to build my bike, an hour later and it was built! A quick stop round the supermarket to get some supples and we were set for the week food wise. Of course being in Italy, we had bought plenty of pasta and there was a full row dedicated to Pasta only and that was excluding the fres Ravioli and Gnocci (see below Dominik deciding on what Pasta to pick).

Well today we each did 6 downhill runs, the trails here are super dry, really fast, rocky and so much fun! I played around with suspension but still haven't got it quite right, I dropped a spring rate and it felt a lot better.

On the uplift road, there is a rally on it at the weekend which is pretty famous, there were a few locals out practising and this lead to some pretty scary experiances, we're heading to a different place tomorrow, can't wait!
