The start of a trip of a lifetime - Llangollen BDS

After a weeks washing and cleaning from two weeks in Europe, it was time to leave for BDS Llangollen in Wales...

A quick track walk and I was looking forward to smashing a few runs out on the Saturday morning! The track was flat but fast at the top before dropping left in to a series of turns before hitting up around 50kmph down a fast off camber straight, slam the brakes on hard left and your back into slaying steep rutted turns. Pop out the woods at the bottom and hit a series of 3 step downs before spriniting across the line! A good time would be anything under 2 minutes...

Well a bit of a slow start to practise and lots of queing (around 2 hours per run) saw me squeeze in 4 runs, but by the end I was really enjoying them and starting to get into the flow of things and had the majority of my lines dialled. A quick walk saturday evening and I found a few little places where I could shave some seconds and on Sunday practise I put them in to place.

Sunday was a scorcher of a day and was well welcomed after the huge amount of rain thats recently been around. Practise went well and I headed up for qualifying, I was on a good run and was really enjoying it I pushed a little to hard and went right off track, having to push back up I placed last but at least I would get in the hotseat for a while!

Race run I put together an ok run, was nothing special but stayed on track, and finished 27th I was a little dissapointed with the time but now, I have two weeks racing in North America with Dan Critchlow, Scott Mears and Damien Grooves!

We've now arrived safely in Mont Sainte Anne and already had a load of fun. First day of practise is on Thursday with track walk tomorrow, can't wait!
